Mr. R Balasubramanian, B.E (Civil), serves as the Managing Director and Head of the Quality Control & Materials Testing Department. With an impressive career spanning over 20 years, he has amassed extensive experience in Soil Testing, Onsite Project, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, particularly within the construction sector and in Concrete and Soil Laboratories.
His career includes pivotal roles at the Building Technology Centre, Anna University, where he was responsible for lab management and administration. Mr. Balasubramanian is renowned for his expertise & Consulting in the area of Concrete Mix design, incorporating both Chemical and Mineral Admixtures. His research activities have seen collaborations with notable chemical companies such as FOSROC, BASF, CeraChem, and Mc Bauchemie during the tenure at Building Technology Centre, Anna University
In the professional realm, he has held senior positions with M/s. Emas Engineers and Contractors and M/s. Simplex Infrastructures Ltd, where he worked as a Senior Quality Control Engineer on several mega projects. His academic journey was mentored by Dr. A.R. Santhakumar, the Former Dean of Civil Engineering at Anna University and an Emeritus Professor at IIT.
Mr. Balasubramanian's international experience includes a significant tenure in Afghanistan, at the U.S. Army Base in Kabul, where he specialized in cold weather concrete and executed numerous design mixes. His expertise also extends to various soil investigation works across Tamil Nadu and South India, including Soil Testing, Geo-Technical Investigation, Road Works, Pile Load Test, Plate Load Test, and Structural Stability Checking.
He continues to provide consultancy services on road and soil testing for factory projects, as well as industrial and commercial buildings, solidifying his reputation as a distinguished expert in his field.
He is a certified NABL Trainee as per NABL ISO 17025: 2017.
Mr. T Abiramachander, M.Tech (Geotech) is a Senior Geotech Engineer at RCTPL, specializing in Soil Investigation. Having 10 years of experience in various Civil Engineering sectors, he is responsible for coordinating onsite soil tests with clients, conducts site visits and monitoring, and manages documentation and maintenance of reports. He holds a Master Degree from SRM University and is passionate about soil studies.
He is responsible for preparing Soil Testing Reports, Plate Load Test Reports, and Pile Load Test Reports. His duties include onsite testing of Plate Load Tests and Pile Load Tests for various solar renewable projects, windmill installations, and warehouse constructions. Additionally, his tasks encompass NDT tests on concrete, soil analysis and properties, building materials tests, concrete and NDT assessments, and laboratory tests on building materials.
He is a certified NABL Trainee as per NABL ISO 17025: 2017. He has participated in NABL process and audit. He can manage onsite and laboratory tasks independently and delegate resources efficiently.
The laboratory is well-maintained and equipped to conduct comprehensive tests on soil, building materials, and concrete. It includes apparatus for Soil SPT, Soil Compaction, GSB, WMM, NDT tests (such as Rebound Hammer, UPV, and Concrete Core). All equipment is calibrated per standard requirements, and the team is well-trained to deliver consistent and reliable results.
